The film is a short drama that tells the story of a mother who lost her child because of discrimination against lesbian couples in the 1990s. LGBTQ families could be torn apart and children uprooted because their non-biological “Mama” was not considered a parent under the law.

The laws have since changed, although the current political environment continues to threaten these fragile victories. We must never take our rights for granted. The fight for equality is ongoing, and there is constant and evolving push back.
